But what can you expect in this situation? We explain this in a few steps. If you have questions during this process, you can always contact Ouders & Onderwijs.","inhoud":"<h3>Step 1: talking together<\/h3>\n<p>The teacher or you see that your child is not doing well at school. There can be different reasons. Your child may fall behind, be unhappy, or the teacher may find it hard to support your child. Teacher and parents raise the alarm and talk together. Should we worry? What should we worry about? What does the school think? What do you think about the situation? And what steps can be taken?<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: gathering information<\/h3>\n<p>After this talk, it is good to gather information. What steps can the school take, what may and can the school do? What can you expect and ask from the school? You can certainly contact <a href=\"https:\/\/oudersenonderwijs.nl\/contact\/\">our information point<\/a>. You can also find information on the school&#8217;s own website or on the website of <a href=\"https:\/\/oudersenonderwijs.nl\/kennisbank\/passend-onderwijs\/ondersteuning-op-een-reguliere-school\/samenwerkingsverband-passend-onderwijs\/\">the partnership Tailored Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: investigating the problem<\/h3>\n<p>The research phase begins. What is needed to understand the situation clearly? An internal support coordinator or care coordinator from the school may look at your child. Someone else may also be used. Using people from outside the school can only happen with the parents&#8217; permission and agreement.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4: making a plan<\/h3>\n<p>The research phase results in a plan. Sometimes the school can <a href=\"https:\/\/oudersenonderwijs.nl\/kennisbank\/passend-onderwijs\/ondersteuning-op-een-reguliere-school\/ondersteuning-door-school\/\">support your child within the school<\/a>. Sometimes <a href=\"https:\/\/oudersenonderwijs.nl\/kennisbank\/passend-onderwijs\/ondersteuning-op-een-reguliere-school\/extra-ondersteuning-op-school\/\">extra help from outside the school<\/a> is needed. This support is started in discussion with the parents. It happens as much as possible at your child&#8217;s school. This plan is recorded in the development perspective plan. Some schools call such a plan differently, for example an action plan, growth document, or a child plan.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 5: evaluating the plan<\/h3>\n<p>The plan that was done is evaluated. Did the changes succeed in giving your child a good place at school? Does something extra need to happen? In this step, the school talks with the parents (and if possible with the child) about the situation. What helped? What did not help? What do we change and try again? With an adjusted plan, step 4 is done again.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 6: a different school<\/h3>\n<p>If the school, despite all plans, cannot find a good place for your child, the school and parents look for a good next step for the child. It may be that another regular school nearby can give the right support. It may be that the child moves to special education. The school where your child is enrolled has the duty of care to find a good place.<\/p>\n<h3>Actively involved parents achieve the most<\/h3>\n<p>The best results come from children whose parents are actively involved with the school. At all the steps described here, you can always talk to Ouders &#038; Onderwijs.
