Some schools even face problems.","inhoud":"<h3>Causes of the decline<\/h3>\n<p>The population decrease has several causes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fewer children are born<\/li>\n<li>Families with children move to larger cities<\/li>\n<li>Youth and highly educated people move to larger cities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is expected that student numbers will keep falling in the coming years. Secondary education will also face this.<\/p>\n<h3>Effects of the decline<\/h3>\n<p>Areas with decline can become less attractive for businesses or young residents. Businesses in those regions may have trouble finding enough suitable staff. Other effects include less demand for houses, sports facilities, public transport, or shops.<\/p>\n<h3>Fewer students, fewer schools<\/h3>\n<p>The decline also affects education. The number of students in primary education has dropped sharply in recent years. This eventually leads to fewer students or fewer classes at school. Schools themselves must take measures. Hundreds of primary schools have closed in recent years.<\/p>\n<h3>Student growth<\/h3>\n<p>Some areas face student growth. Especially urban areas have a high inflow of students.
