Enough quality<\/h3>\n

Based on a risk analysis and possible further research, the education inspectorate decides how much supervision a school needs. The supervision each school receives is tailored. Their research frameworks describe how the education inspectorate works, what it assesses, and when education is of enough quality. They also check the financial health of schools and school governing bodies.<\/p>\n

Research frameworks<\/h3>\n

For some years, the education inspectorate has changed how it assesses school quality. It uses research frameworks<\/a> to supervise the quality of all schools in the netherlands. The school governing body must show how it arranges quality care for its schools. The school plan serves as the starting point. The inspectorate then checks at some schools whether the findings of the governing body match the inspector’s findings.<\/p>\n

The standard for basic quality is that a governing body and its schools meet the requirements for education quality, quality care, and financial management. The inspectorate can conclude that a school of basic quality is sufficient, insufficient, or very weak. The inspectorate also includes signals from parents in the research. These can be complaints from parents about the school. The inspector can also talk to the school participation council and\/or parents to check the described policy.<\/p>\n

The education inspectorate and complaints<\/h3>\n

The education inspectorate does not handle complaints, but parents can report a situation at school. The inspectorate reads the report and includes it in the school’s file.
