The primary school arranges connection with after-school care<\/h3>\n

If parents ask, every regular primary school must arrange connection with after-school care. The school must make sure children can go to after-school care from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm if parents want this. Usually, the primary school works with one or more childcare organizations, but the school can also set up an after-school care organization itself. If parents use a different organization than the one the school works with, the school must still provide that organization with the necessary practical information. Special education<\/h3>\n

A school for special education is not required to arrange connection with after-school care.<\/p>\n

Costs for after-school care<\/h3>\n

Parents pay the costs for after-school care themselves. Parents make a contract with the childcare organization for this. Parents get part of the costs back from the tax office in the form of childcare allowance<\/a>. The school only arranges the cooperation.<\/p>\n

After-school activities<\/h3>\n

Some schools organize after-school activities. These activities start when school ends, so students can go straight to them. Usually, a combination officer or local welfare organizations organize these activities, but local entrepreneurs can also be involved. These can be sports or culture lessons, or creative workshops. The role of the school participation council<\/h3>\n

The school participation council always gives advice about after-school care. The whole school participation council gives advice before there is a final decision about the after-school care arrangement. Both the school participation council and the school leadership are contact points for parents if there are problems with the current arrangement. For example, if there is temporarily no place for your child at after-school care. In that case, as a parent, you can ask the school leadership to take temporary measures and extra steps. The school participation council can take your signal into account when changing the
