No home sitters because of tailored education<\/h3>\n

An important goal of tailored education is to reduce the number of home sitting students. How? By giving every growing child a suitable educational place with the right support at the right time. In 2016 the home sitter pact<\/a> was signed. It states the goal that by 2020 no child sits home longer than three months without a suitable offer of education and\/or care. But despite this pact, the number of home sitters is rising. From 3,200 in 2014 to over 4,400 in 2018. This counts only children who sit home longer than 3 months. Children who sit home shorter than 3 months or children who partly go to school are not counted. The total number of students who do not get tailored education is much higher.<\/p>\n

The manifesto<\/h3>\n

The manifesto, made by experienced parents and professionals, states that all children have the right to education that fits them. The Manifesto describes several key points:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Parents have control. Parents are ultimately responsible for their child\u2019s development, including education.<\/li>\n
  2. Parents and child are equal partners in talks.<\/li>\n
  3. Doctors\/experts called by parents are involved and their advice is followed.<\/li>\n
  4. Parents are experts when it concerns their child.<\/li>\n
  5. The school where the child is registered shares responsibility for the child\u2019s development.<\/li>\n
  6. The registered school takes its responsibility and offers what helps the child develop into an independent thinking citizen.<\/li>\n
  7. Schools use funds so that it helps the child\u2019s well-being and development, also when a child develops outside school. The legally responsible professional parties make sure the costs for tailored education are paid from public funds.<\/li>\n
  8. Acting by the points in this manifesto leads to a constructive attitude. This makes the right to education for every child real. Do you or your organization agree with this manifesto? Show it by placing it on your website and\/or sharing on social media. But more important, act by it!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u201dBy clearly acting according to the points in this manifesto the right to education for every child becomes real. It is essential that the education inspectorate monitors and enforces the duty of care of schools.<\/em> Therefore, we call on all parties involved with children to base their actions on the right to education and visibly act according to the points in this manifesto. Parents, professionals, school governing bodies, partnership tailored education, attendance officers and municipalities. We all want the right to education for every child, don\u2019t we?!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
