The murder of the french teacher samuel paty is a reason to have conversations in schools about the importance of freedom of speech. People who have different opinions also deserve respect. It is good and important that teachers have these talks. No matter how hard it sometimes is for teachers and students.<\/p>\n

In some cases these talks lead to unacceptable consequences. Including threats. This happened at the emma\u00fcscollege in rotterdam<\/a>. A teacher had to go into hiding after a threat. We oppose this without any doubt. We stand in solidarity with this teacher and all other teachers who pass on our society\u2019s core values to students in their lessons.<\/p>\n
