Improvement Plan<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The minister concludes that Tailored Education<\/a> has improved in many places. Many children get the education they need. But we have not yet reached what we want for students, teachers and parents. Therefore, he proposes improvements. These include a hearing right for students and an information point for parents and students in every region.<\/p>\n

Clear Choices<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Parents are less positive, as shown by our evaluation among parents: Tailored Education can and must be better. More measures are needed for structural solutions. This requires clear political choices and stronger actions. For example, it is good that minister Slob indicates what support schools must offer at minimum, but it is important that he enables schools to actually do this.<\/p>\n

Overcrowded Classes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The core is that the current education system is under pressure. There are often overcrowded classes and teachers face high workloads. There is also a lack of expert support, and teachers are often not well equipped to teach children who need extra help. What is needed is a concrete plan that invests in smaller classes, more hands in the classroom and enough educational support staff in all schools. Not for nothing did Ouders & Onderwijs start earlier this year with partners a petition for smaller classes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Letter<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Further improvements are needed to strengthen the position of parents, the law should discuss learning rights instead of compulsory education, and other forms of education are desired. Ouders & Onderwijs, with support from many parent organizations, wrote a letter to the members of the House of Representatives<\/a>, containing possible adjustments with a detailed explanation.<\/p>\n
