Easing at this stage is not free. We will do everything to avoid closing the education again. The social importance is simply too big. We cannot do that to teachers and students. The social importance of easing for young people is heavy right now, says Rutte. According to the OMT it is safe to open schools. School is very important for young people for many reasons. For the future, educationally, socially, and emotionally. I am happy to say that schools can open again on 1 March.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Conditions<\/h3>\n<p>The cabinet follows the advice of the OMT with this decision. Schools can open under the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone keeps one and a half meters distance. A school can choose to have students work in fixed pairs. This way, one and a half meters distance is not necessary. Also in secondary special education, Practical education track, and practice-oriented lessons in vmbo, the distance of one and a half meters is the norm, but in specific situations it can be waived.<\/li>\n<li>Students and staff wear a mouth-nose mask when moving inside the school. Teachers do not have to wear a mouth-nose mask when walking through the classroom or having a fixed sitting or standing place. They must also keep one and a half meters distance from students in class.<\/li>\n<li>To limit contact moments, staggered start, break, and end times of school days apply. Schools can use the first week after reopening to arrange this.<\/li>\n<li>Schools must do everything to limit contact moments when moving in and around the building. The arrangement of school yards, cloakrooms, and canteens is as much as possible by fixed classes or subgroups. This ensures that in case of possible infection, not the whole class or school must quarantine, only the relevant subgroup.<\/li>\n<li>Different classes, subjects, grades, and\/or school levels are separated as much as possible and work as much as possible in fixed groups.<\/li>\n<li>Only education and (education-supporting) care take place at school.
