The complaint is said by Minister Wiersma to be about the housing of the schools and related transactions. ‘I find it very worrying that this step is needed. Since the complaint is linked to the contents of the reports that are not yet public, I cannot comment further at this time,’ writes the minister in the letter to parliament<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Education quality<\/h3>\n

The inspectorate found earlier that the quality of education at some SvPO locations is not good. Three of the eight schools received the very weak rating. For the location in Utrecht, this was the second time in a row. The minister cut funding for this location for three months.<\/p>\n

Mandatory contribution<\/h3>\n

The Utrecht location had more problems. The location forced parents to pay a contribution of 450 euros. If this amount was not paid, students could not join language trips or exam training. This while the law says a parent contribution is always voluntary and it is not allowed to exclude children from activities.<\/p>\n

Advertising campaign<\/h3>\n

Anyone who thinks the school management tries everything to improve education quality is mistaken. Apparently, the school mainly wants to control the flow of negative news and invests in an expensive ad campaign. This is, of course, paid from public funds.<\/p>\n

SvPO has eight locations across the country, including Amsterdam, Utrecht, Deventer, Hoorn, and Hardegarijp. The school focuses on small classes of up to sixteen
