The initiative note<\/a>, presented by Ren\u00e9 Peters (CDA) and Roelof Bisschop (SGP), is the result of talks with several parties involved, including Ouders & Onderwijs. The two departing members of parliament spoke with schools, stakeholders, and organizations such as VOS\/ABB, the PO- and VO-Council, the Reformed Parents Association, and profile organizations such as Verus, VGS, and VOO.<\/p>\n

Less parent involvement<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lobke Vlaming emphasizes the importance of parent involvement in education. In the conversation with Ren\u00e9 Peters, Vlaming explains: \u2018In the past, parents had a specific role in governance and were co-owners of the education. In practice, this involvement is now less common, partly due to scaling up and the professionalization we aimed for, but this has also had negative effects. It has led to a greater distance between the classroom level \u2013 the teachers, parents, and children \u2013 and the governance level.
