Ouders &#038; Onderwijs believes the test must give a suitable and independent advice. This way, all children get the same chances. This gives children more time to grow and schools more time to find a suitable level. Most parents are positive about this, but it is not yet clear how it should exactly work. Therefore, the government must give more information about the possibilities for broad first year classes and broad schools. Only after that can the discussion about later selection be properly held.<\/p>\n<h3>Fairness in applying to secondary school<\/h3>\n<p>Many parents experience problems when applying to a secondary school. Some children are refused because the school says there is no space, but parents cannot check this now. Sometimes another child is accepted at the &#8216;full&#8217; school afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Children with disabilities, support needs, or a name that does not sound Dutch are often rejected. Ouders &#038; Onderwijs wants schools to show how many places they have. Also, registration forms must always be available online, so children cannot be rejected beforehand. This research shows that abolishing this contribution helps create equal chances. Still, the government does not want to provide money for this. This costs hundreds of euros.
