Think along about better basic support at school.

4 December 2025 News

How do we make sure every child gets the support they need at school? We would like to discuss this with parents. We organize several online work sessions where we look at the drafts for the national standard for basic support.

Last year we did this about support questions around reading and spelling problems, dyslexia, (high) giftedness and task and work behavior.

What will we talk about?

The talks focus on two themes that affect many families and schools:

  • Children with learning difficulties and (suspected) forms of autism
  • Language, speech and math problems, including dyscalculia and dyslexia

We go through the draft texts together. We discuss questions like: Is this recognizable? Is it understandable? Does it fit the practice at your school?

During these sessions we like to hear from parents about how they experience the support at school and if the texts about the support are clear, fit daily practice and describe well what a school should and should not offer. Your experiences are essential to make the standard as clear and fair as possible for all families.

For whom?

  • Parents of children with support questions around learning difficulties, (suspected) forms of autism, language, speech problems and math problems, dyscalculia.
  • Teachers, internal support coordinators and other education professionals
  • Anyone who wants to think about better support at school

Why participate?

As a parent, you know better than anyone what your child needs and what works or does not work at school. Your input helps improve the national standard for basic support. This way, we work together on clear expectations for parents, students and schools. Now and in the future.
