Problems with the delivery of textbooks again this year.

30 August 2025 News

As a secondary school student, you want to start the school year without trouble. It is very annoying if your school books are not delivered on time. A survey by the Landelijk Ouderpanel, with 432 parents, shows that many students again had to start the school year with incomplete book sets.

Start the school year without school books

At the time of the quick survey, students in the South region were already in their second school week. Still, 19% of parents said their child had not received all school books yet. In the North region, schools had just started. There, 20% of the students had to start without a full book set. In the Central region, the holiday was almost over. 36% of students there were still waiting: will the books be delivered on time or not?

Where does it go wrong?

Participants in the survey report the biggest problems with supplier Osinga de Jong. In the North and South regions, where schools had already started, 33% of parents said Osinga de Jong had not yet delivered all the school books. In the Central region, it was 67%. Notably, Osinga de Jong came out best last year: in our quick survey, 77% of parents reported all books were delivered on time then.

Central, north and south

This year supplier Iddink seems to have the fewest problems: in the North and South regions only 9% of parents said Iddink had not delivered all books yet. In the Central region, the percentage was lower: there 6% of students had not yet received all books.
