Student administration

The student administration holds personal data such as name, address, date of birth, and gender. The school also keeps data about enrollment and withdrawal, absence, and data needed to calculate funding for education.

Content data in the student file

For good support, the school needs several types of data. First, the school tracks grades and learning development. This includes reports and test results. These are kept in the student monitoring system. Sometimes a student needs extra help to follow lessons well. If there is a development perspective plan, it is always part of the student file. The file can also hold data about a student’s health, wellbeing, or psychological reports.

Data about parents

The school talks with parents about their child’s education. So it can keep the data needed for communication. Such as name, gender, address, postal code, city, and phone number. A report of a parent conversation can be part of the student file if it has important information or agreements.

No permission needed

The school must keep administrative data by law. It can also keep data needed for teaching without parents’ permission. If the school wants to keep or use more data, like images or a library membership, then permission is needed. You also have some rights about the data the school keeps.

Educational report

When a student changes schools, the new school must give good education. The school must write an educational report. It has the main info from the student file. Parents get a copy and have some rights.
