Support by school.
All schools in the region offer the same minimum support to students: the basic support. In the school support profile the school explains how it organizes the basic support. The school makes sure the student receives this support.
School is the first responsible
If your child is not doing well at school, the school first looks with you to see what is wrong. At first, it is the school’s responsibility to help your child. The school will then involve the internal support coordinator or the duty of care coordinator to make agreements about the support with you.
Basic support in the region
Support for students differs per region. Schools in each partnership tailored education make agreements with other schools in the region. The partnership tailored education records these agreements in the support plan. This plan also says what the school must offer to all students. All schools offer at least the basic support.
What is included in the basic support?
What is included in the basic support depends on the region. In most cases, there are agreements about:
- The offer for students with dyslexia.
- The approach to behavior problems.
- Extra guidance for students with above or below average intelligence.
- Possible tools, adjusted furniture and accessibility of the school building.
- Protocols for performing medical actions.
Basic support at school
Each school must describe in the school guide how it provides support to students. One school may hire a remedial teacher, while another school hires teaching assistants.
