Invitation: Staat van de Ouder 2026.
How do parents experience their child's education? What do they struggle with and what goes well? At this yearly event we proudly present the Staat van de Ouder 2026. This year with the theme of digitalization in education.
Why digitalization?
Children grow up in a world full of screens, apps and online influences. A world that is always on and where they move easily. For parents and schools this is often new ground.
Where is the line between letting go and protecting? Between giving trust and offering safety? And what does this ask from education and parenting?
At the Staat van de Ouder 2026 we explore how parents and schools find their way in the digital world of children. Not technical stories, but familiar situations, different views and talks that touch daily life.
For whom?
This event is for anyone who feels involved in education: parents, education professionals, partnership tailored education partners and parent or education organizations.
When and where?
- Date: April 14, 2026
- Time: 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
- Location: Utrecht Library. Neude 11 in Utrecht
What you can expect
Together with a theater group we bring the main themes from the report to life. Through familiar scenes and talks we dive into what parents experience every day. Expect an afternoon where content and experience come together. With room for recognition, depth and conversations.
We are also pleased that the state secretary of Education will be present to receive the report.
During the Staat van de Ouder we will talk about, among other things:
AI in education
Artificial intelligence plays a bigger role in education. But what does this mean for your child? We look at the chances, worries and questions parents have about using AI at school.
Magister and other apps
Many parents can follow online how their child is doing at school. This goes through systems like Magister. But does this always show the full picture? We discuss how digital student monitoring systems help involvement. But also where it sometimes causes friction.
Social media
Social media has a big influence on children. Think of peer pressure, distraction and online safety. What do parents see happening, and how well do parents know what happens online?
Digital skills
Children get better at using phones, tablets and laptops. Can their parents keep up? And what do children learn at school?
