Laks starts with home sitters network.
The National Student Committee (LAKS) wants to give homebound youth a voice. That is why they start a homebound network.
Ask the youth themselves
An important reason for LAKS to do this is because they want to give young people the chance to tell their own story. The National Student Committee is regularly asked by politicians and government to give its opinion and vision on the homebound youth problem. With a network of homebound youth, they can discuss and answer those questions well. Young people can also speak up themselves.
Mutual support
By connecting young people and putting them in contact with each other, they can help each other and stay informed about important developments. From the parent side, we know how important this is. We wrote about this earlier.
LAKS has organized meetings for homebound youth before. This network is a logical next step. Besides a mailing list, it is also possible to join an app group.
