Strengthening school participation council stops on 31 march.
The subsidy from the ministry of OCW for the project strengthening school participation councils of all education organizations involved ends on April 1 2020. Due to tightened rules about state aid the ministry must hire an external party for the activities. Since the start in 2014 the education organizations themselves have managed the project with a project leader.
The ministry of OCW still sees the importance of support for school participation councils in primary and secondary education, so funds remain available. Especially with the bill to give school participation councils in primary and secondary education the right to approve main lines of the budget. It is not yet known which organization will take over the project tasks, as the tender process is still ongoing.
Delivered a lot
The project has delivered a lot in recent years, minister Slob stressed in a letter he sent to the House of Representatives on March 10 2020, and there is wide recognition of the role played by the involved education organizations in the project. The steering group and project leader Kitty Ramakers will remain in office until April 1 2020. How the organization will look after that date will become clear in the coming months. In any case, some activities will continue, such as information provision via the website www.infowms.nl and the successful school participation council scan.
