When your child needs extra support at school, goes to special education, or gets education and/or care in another way, you often have many questions or may need help. First, you can go to your child's school for this. But if that is not enough or you want to ask someone else, you can go to the parent and youth support point in your region.
Support point partnership tailored education
To make sure every child that needs it gets extra help or can go to a special school (tailored education), schools in a region work together in a partnership tailored education. There are partnerships for primary education and for secondary education. Each partnership has a parent and youth support point where you can go with your questions about extra help at school, the special school, care, or youth help needed. The parent and youth support point can also help if you do not know what help or special school is needed. Or help if you cannot agree with your child’s school.

Information and support
The parent and youth support points are for parents and young people. The support point gives information about tailored education, how it is organized in the region, and the options at schools for care, youth help, or other special support.
The parent and youth support point of the partnership tailored education is there for all questions and support for parents and young people about extra support in education, tailored education. For example, with questions about:
- What support does my child need and can the school offer?
- It has been said that your child must go to another school or to special education?
- We cannot agree with the school about what support is needed.
- Which school or other options are there that offer what my child needs?
- How can we arrange care well at school?
Besides information, you can also go to the support point for help and support. For example, when you look for a school that can offer support for your child or when you cannot agree with the school about what help is needed.
The support point is there to help you as a parent or young person and works independently. The staff have no interest in your child’s school. You can trust that the information or support you get is focused on your child’s need for tailored education. Many support points also include experienced parents who you can contact.
Contact
Each partnership tailored education has a support point for parents and young people. Which support point you can contact depends on which partnership your child falls under.
- If your child is registered at a school, your child falls under the partnership where the school is connected.
- If your child is not registered at a school, will move to secondary education, or you move to another region where your child must go to another school? Then your home address decides which partnership your child falls under. Usually, this matches the partnership where the closest school belongs.
