ADHD.

Children with ADHD are not just restless. Children with ADHD have trouble with attention, concentration, and planning. They are hyperactive and impulsive.

What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. In Dutch, it is called aandachtsdeficiëntie-hyperactiviteitsstoornis. There are different types of ADHD. Children can have trouble concentrating, react impulsively, and show restless or hyperactive behavior. ADHD is only diagnosed when it seriously limits your child in daily life. Your child must have these problems for a long time in different places and situations. For example, at home and at school.

Talk to school

Most of the time, ADHD is suspected when a child starts learning at school. If you think your child may have ADHD, it is good to talk about it with a professional. This can be your child’s teacher.
