What is a declaration of admissibility?

If your child can no longer go to the regular school and special primary education, special education, secondary special education or practical education track suits better, a declaration of admissibility is needed. The school requests this from the partnership tailored education.

When requesting it, the school sends information about your child. Think of the development perspective plan, test results and the support that has already been tried. This is in the student dossier. You may always think along and give your opinion. Is your child younger than 16 years? Then you also have the right to view the student dossier.

The transfer to special (primary) education

If you have just heard that your child’s school thinks that special education or special primary education fits better, this can be tense. Maybe you did not see this coming or wonder if this is really the right step. Or maybe you are relieved that your child can go to another, better fitting place. Both feelings are very understandable.

Requesting a declaration of admissibility does not mean everything is already decided. The school will talk to you and the partnership tailored education and investigate which place suits your child best. The goal is always the same: a school where your child gets the support they need and can develop as well as possible.

What if you do not agree with a declaration of admissibility?

Maybe the school thinks special education is better and wants to request a declaration of admissibility. While you do not agree with that. Discuss your concerns first with the school.

You can also do this if you think your child fits better in special education, but the school does not agree. If you cannot agree, you can contact the partnership tailored education as well.

Has the decision already been made to issue or not issue a declaration of admissibility and you do not agree? Then you can file an objection. You do this by letter or email to the partnership tailored education that made the decision.
