Diploma for students practical education track and vso.
Successfully finishing high school is an achievement to be proud of. However, not all students currently receive a diploma. That will change.
Every student gets a diploma
Every student who finishes high school deserves to be celebrated. This also includes students in the practical education track and in special education. That is why Minister Slob is working on a legal rule that should make this possible. Students who finish the practical education track currently get a certificate. This also applies to students in special education who go on to day care or the labor market. Students who continue to secondary education can get a diploma.
The practical education track diploma
What will such a diploma say? There will be a national model for the practical education track diploma. Each student also gets a personal portfolio with all their results recorded. Students must know in advance what they need to meet to get a diploma. Each school will set in its rules when a student gets the diploma. So there will be no national exam. The rules will be set in the law on secondary education.
First diplomas handed out
Several practical education schools will already give students a school diploma this year. The Sector Council Practical Education track made a model for this. Minister Slob supports this and was present at one of these diploma handouts to speak to the students:
“These students also have the right to a diploma and now we will make that possible for all students. We will also record this literally. These are champions and also those who supported them in recent years.”
The special education diploma
The minister also wants to introduce a school diploma for special education. He will consult with Lecso, Vivis, and Simea to see what agreements they can make.
