Delayed school books? This is what you can do.

Agreements about delivery

Secondary schools make agreements with school book suppliers about delivering school books. They agree that school books are delivered before the new school year starts. But this year, that did not happen for all students in secondary education. There are several reasons for the delay in delivering school books: the tight labor market and the deliveries from publishers are not on time. This causes extra difficulties.

No books, what now?

Meanwhile, your child’s school year has started. It is important that your child can follow the lessons with or without books. Your child can, for example, follow along with another student during class. It is the school’s responsibility that your child gets good education. You can expect the school to copy assignments and other important things for your child or offer them online. We also recommend contacting the supplier. You can take the following steps:

  • Is a book missing in your order overview? Report this to the book supplier.
  • Let the school know which books are still missing so the school can provide an alternative.
  • Check the status of the order. Most large suppliers have an online system to check the order progress. This way, you know when the books will likely be delivered.
