Extra Support For Vulnerable Pupils In This Corona Time.

30 March 2020 News

Now that children cannot go to school physically, measures are needed. All pupils are affected by the fact that schools are closed. Children in unsafe home situations and children who need extra support or attend special education are affected more. Additional measures have been taken for this group of children.

Compensation for buying computer, laptop or tablet

For pupils who do not have a computer, laptop or tablet at home, measures have been taken. Extra money is available for this. If you do not have a computer at home, you can report this at school or the municipality. They know about the options.

Extra support for parents and child

Sometimes it is hard to offer a safe or nice place for a child at home in this difficult time. This can be due to personal situations of a family. But also because of a disability or disorder of a child. Think about children with a serious (multiple) disability and pupils who attend special education. Parents can contact the municipality’s social district team for this. Also, schools have the freedom from the minister to offer tailored solutions for these children together with the municipality. In some cases, care, education or guidance outside the home can be needed. This is allowed. The main thing is that this guidance is provided in a safe way.

Does the above apply to your situation? Then contact the school and/or the municipality’s social district team. Is there already a caregiver involved with your family? Then this person is the first point of contact. If you need extra care at home for a while because your child cannot go to school, contact the Care Office. Care Offices have a generous policy.
