First Breakfast Session Campaign Together We Are School In Hoogezand.

Together we are school visited cbs de regenboog. The first breakfast session of this campaign took place in hoogezand. Eppo Bruins from the house of representatives talked with parents, teachers and of course children.

Barriers disappear

“Be open with each other, teacher, parent and headmaster. Then barriers disappear and you reach each other faster. Inform each other, and also ask the children about their story.”

So said one of the parents who took part in the talk about how students, parents and school can work together more. The school added that more cooperation is mainly an attitude. “Everyone around the school can be expected to keep talking with each other. Without pressure, because then talks between school and parents only get more difficult.”

Meeting on the schoolyard

Before the warm welcome in the school, there was a meeting on the schoolyard between children, parents, director bregina staal and general director jan de boer, alderman of education erik drenth and house of representatives member eppo bruins (cu).
The children talked about how their parents are involved with the school and their development and what they think of that. “I like it when my mother asks how school went at the end of the day,” said a girl. A boy added that his father always provides the music at school.

Signature under call

All present could sign the call Together we are school. This call invites everyone to help prevent conflicts between school and parents. And mostly to focus on good cooperation between both for the benefit of children. Alderman drenth was happy to add his signature. Eppo Bruins, who did that earlier in The Hague, spoke again with passion about how the subject is close to his heart and that he wants to work on it in the house of representatives.

Campaign

The campaign Together we are school will keep asking schools, parents and education organizations to work together more. The talks allow sharing good examples but also to discuss difficult questions and search for solutions.
