In A Large Part Of The Netherlands The Summer Holidays Are Over. Schools Start A New School Year. Or Not? School Principals Are Struggling And Are Desperately Looking For Teachers. Many Schools Have Difficulty Managing All Tasks. The Teacher Shortage Will Increase Even More In The Coming Years. That Is A Problem. Therefore, The Unions, Other Education Organizations, And Parents Continue To Campaign Together For More Investments!

The Teacher Shortage In Primary Education Concerns 1700 Full-Time Jobs This Year, Rising To Almost 5000 Jobs In 2024. Secondary Education Also Faces A Shortage And Has Difficulty Finding The Right Qualified Teachers For Specific Subjects. Due To The Shortage, Experienced Teachers Also Face High Work Pressure. Education Organizations Are Very Concerned About This.

In A Large Partnership Tailored Education, Parents & Education Together With The AOb, The CNV, FNV Overheid En Onderwijs, FvOv, PO In Actie, VO In Actie, Laks, Teachers In Action (LIA) And AVS Are Taking Action. Despite The Earlier Calls, The Government Has So Far Not Provided Extra Investments To Make Working In Education More Attractive And To Invest In The People Who Give Our Children Good Education.

What Are We Going To Do?

The Actions Will Continue! We Hang Banners In All Regions Saying: ‘Teacher Wanted’ To Draw Attention To The Shortages. This Way, We Want To Point Out To The Government At The Start Of The School Year That Extra Investments Are Urgently Needed. A Commercial Will Also Be Shown On Social Media And In Missed Broadcast Programs.
