New parent support point Tailored Education.

18 November 2019 News

Parents offered Lobke Vlaming from Ouders & Onderwijs a website about Tailored Education. Parents can find information on the website. This took place during the conference 'I make a difference for us' on November 11 in Heerhugowaard.

The independent website www.oudersteunpunt.nl must answer common questions. It has information about rights, duties, conversation techniques, practical phone numbers, and different types of situations.

Staat van de Ouder

And this is very needed. Because when it comes to Tailored Education, parents often get lost in many rules and scattered information. This was also clear from the Staat van de Ouder 2019 study which Ouders & Onderwijs held among the members of the Landelijk Ouderpanel.

Outcomes

It showed that parents mostly get frustrated if it takes a long time before Tailored Education is realized. Sometimes children are sent to another not fitting place while there is no agreement with the parents yet, and this leads to complaints. Complaint procedures are slow and often do not give the solution parents expect.

Main Role for Parents

During the development of the website oudersteunpunt.nl parents had an important role. They shared their thoughts on what was needed and the information on the website was developed together with them. The Partnership Tailored Education Primary Education North Kennemerland and Ouders & Onderwijs made this possible.
