5 November 2019 News

Many parents worry about the quality of education for their children. In primary education, more than 50% of parents have serious concerns. This is shown by research from Ouders & Onderwijs among members of the Landelijk Ouderpanel.

From happy teachers, you learn the best things

Ask parents what is the most important factor for the quality of education and the answer is simple: the teacher. The worries about education quality seem to be linked to the growing effects of the teacher shortage. For 69% of parents, the shortage is already noticeable in practice. There is much lesson cancellation, groups are joined, and crowded classes appear or trainees stand in front of the class. A source of concern for parents: 81% worry about the teacher shortage.

Teacher and parent shoulder to shoulder

More than three-quarters of parents think that structurally more money should come to lower the workload in education and 53% support a structural salary increase.
