The Staat van de Ouder 2023, do you join?.

Every year Ouders & Onderwijs asks parents what they think about education in the Netherlands. The results are published in April in an (online) report: The Staat van de Ouder. What do you think of the education and the school of your child(ren)? Are you satisfied with the quality? What do you notice about the teacher shortage? And how do you experience contact with the school? All questions that are part of this survey.

The Staat van de Ouder 2023

In the survey we ask what parents think about some important themes in education. Like the relationship between parents and school, education quality, school participation council and school costs. This helps us track if anything changes. This year we give extra attention to basic skills: Does your child’s school pay enough attention to (Dutch) language and math? Let us know.

The results

The results of the survey form the base of The Staat van de Ouder 2023: An online report with the results and advice to improve education. It is based on your opinion. We present The Staat van de Ouder in April 2023 to the education ministers, the education inspectorate and other education organizations. So the opinion of parents is really heard.

About the Staat van de Ouder

Since 2017 Ouders & Onderwijs has published the Staat van de Ouder every year. In this extensive survey, parents share their experiences and opinions about current themes in education. It is an important survey because based on the results we highlight our Focus Points to politics, the education field, media and other stakeholders.
