Fact: Parental involvement improves school results

Parents who are involved in their child’s education often see good school results. Parental involvement can be many things: from attending parent evenings to simply asking your child how the school day was.

Myth: More homework means better results

More homework does not always lead to better school results. Too much homework can even backfire, cause stress and reduce motivation in your child. With homework, it is about quality, not quantity.

Fact: Music education improves school results

Children who take music lessons often perform better in subjects like math and reading. Music stimulates different areas of your child’s brain that help with learning.

Myth: Students in the practical education track have fewer career opportunities

A practical education track student is trained for a specific job that is often highly sought after in the labor market. Students with this education actually have many chances for work and career growth thanks to their training.

Fact: Bilingual education improves cognitive skills

Does your child attend bilingual education? Then they often develop better cognitive skills like problem solving and creativity. Also, your child can switch better between different tasks and has broader knowledge of different cultures.

Myth: An expensive school offers better education

High school costs do not automatically mean better education. Motivated teachers, the right support and guidance for your child, and a pleasant learning environment do lead to better education.

Fact: Digital learning tools in the classroom help learning

Digital learning tools, like laptops and tablets, can help learning if used properly. Tablets, laptops and interactive whiteboards can make lessons and materials much more accessible and interactive.

Myth: Young children learn better by playing alone

Playing is certainly essential for the development of young children, but structure and learning activities are also important. There must be a good balance between playing and learning.

Fact: Language delay can be caught up quickly

If your child starts school with a language delay, it can often be caught up quickly with the right support and tools. The earlier you start catching up, the faster the language delay can be recovered.

Myth: Performance-focused education is best

Although school performance is important, education must also focus on your child’s development. By also working on social skills, such as creativity and critical thinking, your child stays motivated at school.
