The VOO School Participation Council Day is for members of school participation councils. Council members gain knowledge and skills through interesting lectures and workshops. This helps them contribute strongly to education quality. The event focuses on the question: ‘How can the school participation council help make education better?’ Marco Frijlink, chair of the VOO School Participation Council Day, stresses the day’s importance: “Well-functioning school participation councils are essential for improving the quality of primary and secondary education in the Netherlands“. VOO expects 150 participants.

The program

The day starts with opening words from Marco Frijlink, followed by an introductory lecture by test expert Karen Heij about testing and equal opportunities. Participants then choose from six workshops, split into two sessions. These workshops cover themes like citizenship and poverty to the interaction between different school councils. The panel discussion on the future of school participation councils and the networking drink close the day and offer extra chances for inspiration and exchange.
