Petition Against Mbo Math Test Successfully Delivered To Second Chamber.

Several parent and education organizations including Ouders & Onderwijs handed over more than four thousand signatures to the House of Representatives. With this, we ask for adjusted rules around the mandatory math test in mbo. Mainly for students with severe math problems. They would never pass the test and thus their mbo diploma.

During an official meeting on April 16, the petition initiators, including Ouders & Onderwijs, parent association Balans, and student organization JOBmbo, handed the thousands of signatures to the House of Representatives.

Success

During a large mbo debate later that day, Minister Dijkgraaf of Education named the mandatory math test. He promised to look further into which groups can be helped with tailor-made solutions so those students can still pass the test. And what needs to be arranged for the group that does not qualify. He also wants to investigate whether tailor-made solutions are really applied in practice.
