Primary schools get more time for school advice.
Primary schools have two weeks longer to set the school advice. Due to the lockdown, schools have until 15 March this school year. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science announced this on Thursday.
Normally, teachers must include the school advice in the educational report by 1 March at the latest and then share it with parents and pupils. Due to the lockdown and upcoming spring holiday, it is hard for schools to gather enough information about pupils and hold parent meetings about the school advice. That is why schools get more time for the school advice.
Advice with opportunity
Because pupils from group 8 faced a period of distance learning this year, minister Slob urges schools to give these pupils advice with opportunity. ‘The pupils deserve chances that fit their potential. It is important to give them the benefit of the doubt.’
Final test
Besides the school advice, the final test also decides the pupil’s next education. It will take place this school year as planned between 15 April and 15 May.
