For which students is a development perspective plan center intended?
A development perspective plan center is for students for whom the education is (temporarily) no longer working. For example because:
- school and student no longer understand each other;
- there are problems with behavior or emotions;
- the student struggles with social situations or stimuli;
- the student has not been able to keep up for a long time;
- the student is out‑of‑school children.
A development perspective plan center is intended as a temporary step. It is a place where calm, structure and support are central. The goal is always that a student can continue later in a suitable place.
When is a development perspective plan center deployed?
A development perspective plan center is only deployed when it is clear that support at the current school is not enough. This usually happens in the following cases:
- after school and parents have looked multiple times together at what is possible;
- if extra support at school is not enough;
- if the risk of out‑of‑school children is high;
- if the cooperation between school, parents and student breaks down;
- if the partnership tailored education advises that a temporary other place is needed.
The partnership tailored education ultimately decides about a placement. School and parents are always involved in this.
