Webinar ‘Parents and inclusive education’: how do you build a more inclusive school?.

23 February 2024 News

For real inclusive education, good cooperation with parents and students is essential. Ouders & Onderwijs still often hears that this does not always happen well. During Inclusive Education Week 2024, we focus on this during the webinar 'Parents and inclusive education'. Led by Ouders & Onderwijs director Lobke Vlaming, parents share stories and people from education share their own experiences to hear what is needed for real inclusive education.

During Inclusive Education Week by education organization Naar Inclusiever Onderwijs, we reflect on how inclusive education currently is, what is going well and what can be improved. More schools and Partnership Tail Educations try to provide more inclusive education, but how do parents and people from education experience that themselves? In the webinar ‘Parents and inclusive education’ on Friday March 1, Lobke Vlaming, director of Ouders & Onderwijs, leads a talk between parents and professionals from education to learn from their experiences.

Program

Inclusive Education Week takes place from February 26 to March 1. During this week, several webinars about inclusive education can be followed. On March 1, the webinar ‘Parents and inclusive education’ features parents with a migration background talking about looking for an inclusive school, parents with a disability, and parents with a gifted child. In addition, a school leader and a director from one of the Partnership Tailored Educations in the Netherlands will also speak.
