Corona measures at school after the summer: what can you expect?.
How do the corona measures at school look after the summer? On August 13, a recommendation from the OMT will follow. Children in primary school who have a cold may for now just go to school. Self-tests are the advice for students before they come back to school.
On June 26, the last loosening in education was implemented. It is expected that the same measures as the basic scenario will apply when schools start in August.
OMT advice on corona measures on August 13
The current situation is closely monitored in the meantime. On August 13, the OMT will issue a new advice about the corona measures at school after the summer. Depending on this, the cabinet will decide what this means for education. If there are no changes, the current basic scenario remains in effect. But it may also be that more is loosened or tightened. Schools will receive news about this as soon as possible after August 13. They still have time to adjust their measures and inform students and parents. The first schools in the North region start again on August 23.
Loosening cold policy in primary education
Students of primary school age no longer need to stay home with cold symptoms. The urgent test advice for cold symptoms is also removed. This loosening is possible at least until the new school year starts. Of course, children aged 0 to 12 years (group 8) with symptoms matching COVID-19 can always be tested. See here for more information if your child has a cold.
Self-tests in the summer for secondary education students
All students in secondary education will receive four self-tests to take home on one of their last school days. The request to students is to test themselves four times this summer: twice after returning from vacation (on the first day of return and three days later) and twice before the first school day (three days before and the evening before the first school day). So, four times in total. See more information in this flyer from the Ministry of OCW.
