The corona crisis and the school closure cause big problems for families. Today is the education & corona meeting in the House of Representatives. Ouders & Onderwijs sent a letter together with other parent organizations to share our concerns and make suggestions to the cabinet.

The five main points in this letter are:

  • The emergency childcare must be expanded so parents who cannot work at home can bring their child to childcare.
  • All schools in special education and practical education track must be open for their students.
  • To ease the pressure on parents caused by the long school closure, a ‘corona leave’ should be made as soon as possible.
  • The final test in group 8 must take place this year.
  • The cabinet must work with teachers, students and parents on a long-term plan for education.

To read the full explanation of these points, consult the letter.
