Mbo level 3: Vocational training.

The mbo has four different levels. The diploma your child earned decides which mbo level they can enroll in. Level 3 is the vocational training and follows the basic vocational training. What admission requirements apply? What does your child learn? And what can your child do with the diploma? Read it in this article.

Who is the mbo level 3 training for?

Your child can follow mbo level 3 training if they have an mbo level 2 diploma or at least a vmbo framework diploma. Pupils with a transition certificate from three to four havo or vwo also meet the conditions for mbo level 2 training. If your child does not meet these conditions, an admission test is possible. The training lasts two or three years.

Content of the mbo level 3 training

In an mbo training at level 3 your child is prepared to work independently within a company. The idea is that your child can take on more responsibilities and work independently after this training. Your child can choose between a vocational training pathway or a vocational guidance pathway. Not every mbo school offers both pathways. Some only have a vocational training pathway or only a vocational guidance pathway. When choosing, it is important to check what the mbo school of your child offers.

After the training

Your child can start working right away with a level 3 diploma. Your child can follow one extra year in the field for an mbo level 4 specialist training. If your child wants to study further in another field, they can go to an mbo level 4 middle management training.
